ARTICLE: MORE SCIENTIFIC, MORE ETHICAL: THE ADHD CONTROVERSY AND BOUNDARY-WORK IN TAIWAN This study examines the globalisation of ADHD diagnosis and treatment in Taiwan, analyzing how different social groups—including mainstream psychiatry, critics of overdiagnosis, and antipsychiatric activists—compete for legitimacy using scientific and ethical boundary-work, while also highlighting the role of media in shaping public discourse and the complex positioning of parents and children within these contested narratives.
